After losing my last job
and crying my last tears,
I spent my last dime,
scuffed my last shoes,
tore my last sock,
ate my last meal,
broke my last promise,
lost my last friend,
lived my last dream,
and considered my last failure.
As I take the last steps,
smoking my last cigarette,
pondering my last scheme,
gazing at the last stars,
smiling my last smile,
drawing my last breath,
I embark on the last journey finding peace at last.
